SQUIER TELECASTER ELECTRIC GUITARS BY FENDER

The Fender Telecaster was the first commercially successful solid-body electric gutiar. The word "revolution" is often over-used but, the Telecaster revolutionised the guitar playing community by delivering astonishing sustain and tone from a simple design. Originally configured with one single-coil pickup that drew more from Hawaiian Steel Guitars than from conventional guitars, the Telecaster proved to be the go-to instrument for many lead players. Originally named the Broadcaster, the designer, Leo Fender, changed the name to Telecaster to avoid market-place confusion with an similarly-named competitors product. By 1954 the design had firmed up to include a truss rod and two single coil pickups. The Squier Telecaster draws on all the history and trandition of the original Fender Telecaster guitar but now comes in a range of pickup configurations. Telecasters can be configured with the tranditional two single coil pickup configuration (SS), two humbuckers (HH), of in the three-pickup (SSS) configuration popularised by session guitarists in Nashville Tennessee where a Stratocaster pickup joins the existing Tele pickups to give a middle pickup and a range of sounds unparalleled by any guitar. Derringers has over 25 years providing Squier and Fender Musical Instruments to musicians of all ages from our base in Adelaide, South Australia and is proud to be a Fender Australian Authorised Dealer. We would be delighted to put a Squier Telecaster in your hands so check out the available models.
