Tama HG5WN Iron Cobra 900 Series Hardware Kit
The Tama HG5WN Iron Cobra 900 Series Hardware Kit includes all of the pedals and stands you need for a standard drum set. All of the stands feature double-braced legs and special Tama features that make your life a little bit easier when setting up and playing your instrument.
What's in the pack:
- One HS800 Roadpro Snare Stand
- Two HC83BW Roadpro Boom Cymbal Stands
- One HH905D Iron Cobra Hi Hat Stand
- One HP900PN Iron Cobra Power Glide Single Bass Pedal
The Tama HS800W ROADPRO Series Snare Stand features Tama's Omni-ball tilter system, a Glide-Tite grip joint, a swiveling basket, Tama Escape claws and nylon washers in the leg stand joints.
Glide-Tite grip joint allows for a more secure attachment, using a metal to metal contact point.
Tama’s Omni-ball system allows for the snare to be tilted to almost any angle by loosening one T-nut. Your snare to be positioned at precisely the angle you desire while the double braced tripod legs ensure no slip occurs during performance.
The Escape claws feature rubber cushions, allowing the snare drum to float on the basket arms, improving the resonance greatly.
The rubber also softens the impact on the drummer’s arms and wrists, allowing for more comfort and longer play times.
The Tama HC83BW ROADPRO Boom Cymbal Stand is a high-quality piece of equipment that's strong enough to handle big cymbals, but light enough to be used on the road.
The Quick-Set Tilter changes the angle of your cymbal with the friction of six smooth metal discs, rather than a toothed gear, so you can set it to precisely the right position.
The boom arm is convertible by simply turning it into a straight stand by storing the boom inside the upper tube.
Glide-Tite Grip Joints between the down tubes actually use metal-to-metal contact that is extremely solid and still won't rattle. These joints totally isolate the instrument on the stand, letting it resonate as much as it can.
The double-braced tripod legs function strongly and look great, with a special angle at the bottom to increase strength and provide a little extra room for other stands' legs to cross underneath.
A steel insert nut inside the tripod base gives that joint a lot more strength than the standard method of drilling direction into the die-cast section.
This stand also comes equipped with a Quick-Set Cymbal Mate that lets you remove a cymbal with a single touch instead of spinning (and dropping) a wingnut. The cymbal sleeve is reversible - if the top gets worn down over time, simply flip it over and it's like new.
The Tama HH905D Iron Cobra 900 Series Hi-Hat Stand is a perfect counterpart to Iron Cobra 900 Series bass drum pedals.
Offering incredibly sensitive, lightning-fast action, maximum adjustability and completely noise-free operation.
The HH905D perfects the traditional straight-pull hi-hat stand, with zero noise and fluid action to match its failure-proof construction.
The footboard swivels into position to accommodate your other hardware and even adjusts up and down to match your bass pedal/s.
To shave precious time off your setup the new "Quick-Set Clutch" allows hi-hat cymbals to be quickly attached and removed. The six-way tensioner is there for a custom playing experience, and a tilting base to permit expressive hi-hat work - all in a patented two-leg design. The Hinge Guard Block on the footboard holds the bearing more evenly, minimizing stress and maximizing smoothness.
Bass Drum Pedal:
The Tama HP900PN Iron Cobra Single Kick Pedal achieved its legendary status because of its ability to strongly support both the artistic and logistical requirements associated with the art of drumming.
Since its inception…smooth, effortless performance and unparalleled response have been hallmarks of the Iron Cobra.
In its efforts to expand the boundaries of this original design, TAMA has continued to work at improving the Iron Cobra, always with an eye towards bringing drummers closer to their own creative objectives. Now, through meticulous analysis of the Cobra's performance under the most demanding conditions, and input from some of the world's best drummers, TAMA proudly introduces the smoothest, best performing, and most reliable Iron Cobra ever.
Smoothness and Effortlessness Beyond Compare.
What does it take to create the smoothest, most efficient generation of Iron Cobra yet? We started by analyzing, under performance circumstances, the cycle of energy demanded during a single split-second stroke: The drummer's foot pressing downward… the strike of the beater against the head… the return of the mechanism to its original position. From this analysis emerged our finest hinge connections and spring treatment yet.
Swivel Spring Tight
The conventional approach to the spring assembly (including previous Iron Cobra Pedals) has been to anchor the bottom of the spring while the top of the spring is being pulled from various angles throughout the pedal’s cycle. But a spring being pulled on at an angle represents wasted energy and causes turbulence. The Swivel Spring Tight assembly solves this problem, recapturing that lost energy and optimizing smoothness through the use of a contoured assembly that allows the base to swivel freely with the spring. This enables a straight spring pull during the pedal’s entire cycle, resulting in the smoothest, lightest action ever found on a bass drum pedal.
Hinge Guard Block
We’ve changed the construction of the Bearing Hinge on the footplate from a one-piece assembly to two pieces, which holds the bearing more evenly—minimizing stress, and maximizing smoothness, while adding to the pedal’s sense of power.
Oiles® Bearing Hinge
Oiles® Bearings are created from a mesh of bell brass material with a Teflon coating. They eliminate unwanted side-to-side motion while providing superior smoothness.
Extended Footboard Length
While the overall size of the pedal hasn’t changed, we’ve slightly extended the footboard’s length by repositioning the hinge closer to the rear of the heel plate. This adjustment increases the sense of ease and control the player has over the pedal, especially when exerting downward pressure on the footboard.
Weighing in at 40% less than our previous Iron Cobra cam, the round, Rolling Glide "LiteSprocket" revolves naturally and smoothly, contributing to a lighter more responsive feel.
Designed to begin working just before the beater makes contact with the bass drum head—the Cobra Coil ensures the footboard’s fastest possible return to its original position, without adding any extra resistance.
In an effort to eliminate or minimize any source of friction, the Speedo-Ring with its high-precision ball bearing assembly eclipses all previous rocker cam technology.
The Cobra's Wider Footprint Is At The Bottom Of It All
Super Stabilizer Design
During our detailed study of previous pedal concepts, we observed that under the stress of aggressive performance, pedals actually sway from side to side, which undermines efficiency. By widening the frame, the pedal’s overall structure is expanded. The supports that hold the revolving shaft are 15mm wider, and the under-plate is about 12mm wider than the previous Cobra.
Para-Clamp II Pro
TAMA now introduces Para-Clamp II -an even more clever and useful version of the popular original. The Para-Clamp II is capable of gripping the widest variety of bass drum hoops ever. The improvement is largely due to its newly designed three-dimensional rubber grip. Holding power is increased and the possibility of scratching the hoop is eliminated. Furthermore, set-up and breakdown are easily facilitated, while sitting on a throne because the T-bolt of the Para-Clamp II Pro is on the side of the footboard, rather than under it.
Amazing Projection Throughout The Dynamic Range
From pianissimo to fortissimo, the Iron Cobra's newly developed Power-Strike Cobra Beater offers unmatched sonic power and projection throughout the entire dynamic spectrum. Intensive experimentation with different felt surface areas, shapes and densities, the distance from the shaft to beater-face, and overall weight and balance of the beater, enabled us to devise a beater head that delivers remarkably powerful, focused sound.
Power-Strike Cobra Beater
The constant evolution of Iron Cobra has always been driven, in part, by TAMA’s passion for sound—or more precisely, TAMA’s passion to bring the best out of each and every bass drum on which Iron Cobra is played. The latest version of Iron Cobra features a smaller diameter but thicker beater head—a combination that delivers more attack than previous designs. Also the distance between the beater head’s face and the shaft has been increased. Drummers found this alteration improved their sense of control during faster passages.
