Seymour Duncan's classic JB Model humbucker meets rail technology in this black–finished pickup that brings added tightness and attack to the original's signature voicing. The JB Rails retains the full low end, crisp highs, and upper–midrange bump that made the standard JB a studio and stage staple, while the rail platform delivers enhanced clarity and sustain under high–gain conditions. An Alnico 8 bar magnet provides the magnetic field, paired with four–conductor shielded cable for flexible wiring options. Designed and manufactured in the USA, this humbucker is built for six–string guitars and comes with black steel rails.
The rail design differs from traditional pole pieces by using continuous steel bars that run beneath all six strings, creating more consistent string–to–magnet coupling across the fretboard. This construction yields tighter bass response and accentuated pick attack compared to the standard JB Model, making the JB Rails particularly effective for palm–muted riffs and fast picking passages where note definition matters. The four–conductor cable allows series, parallel, and split–coil wiring configurations, giving players access to a range of tonal variations beyond the stock humbucker sound.
