The Seymour Duncan Slash LLT APH-2 neck humbucker delivers the raw, sustained tones that defined Guns N' Roses' Appetite for Destruction era. Developed when Slash's new Gibson Les Paul signatures sounded noticeably different from his original Derrig copy, this pickup uses custom mag wire and winding specifications paired with an Alnico 2 bar magnet to recreate that familiar midrange crunch and sustain. Raw nickel cover finish completes the aesthetic.
Hand built in Santa Barbara using traditional methods: nickel silver bottom plate, maple spacer, paper tape, and wax potting. Neck position DCR measures 8.3k ohms. This modern–spec version features short ear mounting legs for direct installation across a wider range of guitars, plus 4-conductor cable enabling coil splitting, series/parallel wiring, and phase switching options. LLT designation indicates made–to–order production with approximately three to four weeks added to standard delivery time.
Slash's guitar tech Ace Bergman pulls identical pickups from regular production stock when installing into the guitarist's touring instruments. Same wire, same magnets, same hand–wound construction methods used since the 1980s. The APH-2 pushes stock Les Pauls toward the aggressive attack and harmonic richness of Slash's original tone without requiring vintage–spec long legs or single–conductor braided cable that limits wiring flexibility in modern installations.
