Suhr's Classic S Antique arrives with a factory–worn nitrocellulose finish that mimics decades of play, complete with natural checking and light dings across its alder body in Sonic Blue. This is a single-coil S-style electric guitar that skips the new-guitar waiting period, offering a 60's C vintage medium neck profile that measures .830″ at the first fret and .950″ at the twelfth, paired with a tinted maple fingerboard and a 9″–12″ compound radius. The SSCII Silent Single Coil system eliminates 60-cycle hum without batteries, while medium stainless steel frets (.055″x.090″) provide long-term durability and smooth bends.

Three Suhr V63 single-coil pickups deliver period-correct tone across all five positions, with the SSCII hum-cancelling circuitry maintaining traditional single-coil voice without electronic compromise. Proprietary Suhr locking tuners feature an 18:1 gear ratio for fine tuning adjustments and eliminate string-slip during restringing. The 2-post tremolo with steel block offers smooth pitch modulation and solid return-to-pitch stability, while the 1.650″ Tusq nut and chrome hardware complete the vintage-informed specification. A parchment 3-ply pickguard sits against the lightly aged nitro finish on both body and extra tinted maple neck.

The antique finishing process replicates the wear patterns of a well-played instrument, with thin nitrocellulose lacquer that breathes with the wood and ages naturally over time. Medium stainless frets resist corrosion and wear far longer than nickel-silver alternatives, maintaining crowned edges through years of playing.
